Licence and terms of sale
Last updated 30 September 2026
These are the terms you agree to when you download, try or buy software from Takt Audio Labs. They are written to be read, not to be impressive. If anything here is unclear, write to support@taktaudiolabs.com and ask before you buy.
1. Who you are dealing with
Takt Audio Labs is the trading name of Patrick Hallén Narvestad, a sole trader registered in Portugal. NIF add before launch. All correspondence: support@taktaudiolabs.com.
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy LLC, who act as the merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller for the transaction, handles payment and charges and remits any VAT or sales tax due in your country. Your card statement will show their name, not ours. Their terms apply to the payment itself; these terms apply to the software.
2. The trial
Dolmen can be downloaded free and runs for seven days from the first time you open it, with nothing held back. Every genre, every mode, dragging patterns onto tracks, saving presets: the trial is the whole product, not a reduced version of it.
When the seven days are up the plug-in stops generating until a licence key is entered. Anything you already made is unaffected. Every pattern you dragged onto a track became an ordinary MIDI region at that moment and belongs to your project, not to us. Projects containing those regions keep opening and playing whether you buy a licence or not.
The trial is meant to be used once per person, so that we can offer it at all. Working around it is a breach of these terms.
3. What your licence allows
When you buy a licence you may:
- install and use the software on up to three machines that you own or control, at the same time;
- use it for personal and for commercial work, with no distinction between the two and no extra fee for either;
- move a licence between your own machines by releasing a slot from inside the plug-in when you sell a computer or replace a drive. You do not need to ask us and there is nothing to wait for.
The licence is granted to you. It is not sold, and it is not transferable to another person.
4. What you make with it is yours
This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is stated plainly.
Every note Dolmen produces belongs to you. Music you write with it is yours outright: no royalties, no revenue share, no credit required, no restriction on where it is released, played, licensed or sold. We claim nothing in your work and never will. This is true of music made during the trial as well as after a purchase, and it stays true if you later stop using the software, let a licence lapse, or take a refund.
5. What you may not do
- Share, publish, sell or give away your licence key.
- Redistribute the installer, or make it available for download elsewhere.
- Work around the trial period or the licensing, or help others do so.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except to the extent that Portuguese or EU law gives you a right to do so that cannot be signed away.
- Remove or alter copyright or licence notices inside the product.
6. Updates
Updates within the current major version are free. Buy 1.8 and every 1.x release is yours at no cost. A future major version may be a paid upgrade; if it is, that will be said clearly and existing customers will be offered a fair price rather than the full one.
The plug-in checks once a day whether a newer version exists. What that involves exactly is set out on the privacy page.
7. If something goes wrong
The software is provided as it is. We test it hard: every release is validated at the strictest level the tools allow, on both plug-in formats. Even so, nobody can promise that any software is free of defects or will suit every setup, and we do not promise it here.
If Dolmen does not work on your system, write to us. We will try to fix it, and if we cannot, you get your money back. See the refunds page, which is more generous than this paragraph needs to be.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with the software is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for lost work, lost time, lost recordings or lost income. Keep backups of your projects, as you would with any software.
Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Ending the licence
You can stop using the software at any time. If you seriously breach these terms by sharing keys, redistributing the installer or defeating the licensing, the licence ends, and with it your right to use the software. Music you already made remains yours, as section 4 says.
9. Law, and your rights as a consumer
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you, including your right of withdrawal, which is covered on the refunds page. Where these terms and your statutory rights disagree, your statutory rights win.
Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would much rather you emailed us first.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version applies to purchases made after it is published. The terms you agreed to when you bought continue to apply to that purchase. The date at the top of this page tells you which version you are reading.
11. Third-party notices
