Dolmen has no account, no cloud, no telemetry and no analytics. Nothing you make in it is sent anywhere. This page says exactly what does leave your computer, and what happens to the little we know about you.
The short version
- The plug-in sends two things, ever: a licence key when you activate, and a request asking what the current version number is.
- Neither of those carries anything about your music, your projects, your machine or what you do with the software.
- We never see your card details.
- The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information. There is nobody to share it with.
What the plug-in sends
Activating a licence
When you paste a licence key and press Activate, the plug-in sends that key and a randomly generated identifier for the installation to Lemon Squeezy, who verify it and record that one of your three slots is in use. That identifier is generated on your machine, means nothing outside this system, and is not derived from anything about your computer or about you.
This happens once, when you activate, and once more if you release a slot. After that the plug-in does not contact anything about your licence again. There is no periodic re-check, and it works with the network off.
Checking for updates
Once a day, the plug-in asks taktaudiolabs.com for a small public file containing the current version number. It is an ordinary request for a file anyone could open in a browser, and it carries nothing about you, your machine or your licence.
Like any request to any website, our host (Cloudflare) sees the IP address it came from, in the same way they would if you visited the page yourself. That is a consequence of how the internet works rather than a choice we made, and those logs are kept briefly by Cloudflare and are not used by us for anything.
If you are offline, the plug-in simply does not ask, and nothing about it changes.
Nothing else
The plug-in does not send your patterns, your projects, your settings, your MIDI library, what genres you use, how often you open it, or whether you use it at all. There is no code in it that does any of that. You are welcome to confirm every word of this with any network monitor.
When you buy
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy LLC, who act as the merchant of record. You give your details to them, not to us.
We never see your card number. It does not pass through our website and is not stored anywhere we control.
What we do receive from Lemon Squeezy, for each order: your name, your email address, the country you bought from, what you bought, the amount, and an order number. We need those to know a licence is real, to answer you when you write in, and to keep the records Portuguese tax law requires. Those records are kept for as long as the law requires them to be, which is currently ten years.
Lemon Squeezy have their own privacy policy covering what they hold, at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
When you email us
Our email is hosted by Migadu, in Switzerland and the EU. If you write to us, we hold that message, your address and our reply, so that the next conversation makes sense. Support mail is kept for three years and then deleted. We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not have one.
The website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising. That is why you have never seen a cookie banner here: there is nothing to consent to.
It is hosted by Cloudflare Pages, who keep short-lived server logs including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We do not read them and cannot connect them to a person.
One honest caveat: the site currently loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google and Google can see your IP address. We are moving the font onto our own server so that stops happening. Until then, this sentence is here so you know.
Legal basis, in GDPR terms
Verifying your licence, delivering what you bought and answering your support mail are all needed to perform our contract with you. Keeping sales records for tax is a legal obligation. The update check, and keeping this site online and secure, rest on legitimate interest.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or UK you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to support@taktaudiolabs.com and we will answer within a month, usually much sooner. There is nothing to pay and you do not need a reason.
Deleting your record means we can no longer verify your licence, so tell us if that is what you want and we will explain what it costs you before doing it.
If you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD, or to the equivalent authority in your own country.
Children
These products are not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change is significant and we have your email because you bought something, we will tell you.
